Real experience
American restaurant serving seasonal food & cocktails in an elegant, intimate setting with a patio.
Blue door is a cute restaurant. I like the decoration and the service here. The yard is very nice and can get crowded soon. Food, honestly I think it’s okay level. But it does have some good dishes Food was good, but very bland like they did not use any seasoning. Pierogi appetizer was not very good. It appeared to be deep fried. Decent wines by the glass. Outside patio is nice. A little pricey for what you get

Very much love this place’s beautiful garden patio. Such a surprise after randomly dropping in for lunch. I really liked the Salmon. Would get it again for sure Cute little spot. Upscale southern cooking. Came for brunch on a Saturday. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive. Good quality ingredients.
I alway appreciate a Chicago restaurant that puts just as much effort in their food as they do to their aesthetics. I was not a fan of the beignets, it was chewy. Next will need to get the Mac and Cheese cause I heard it’s phenomenal! Only issue we had was a constant cold breeze. We sat near the back by the kitchen and the staff kept opening a door in the back that let in a cold breeze (it was 30 deg day). So try to sit near the front if possible.

We were there during a tornado warning day and massive rain, the restaurant kept up with good service even under the critical weather conditions. Staff was really nice and professional, food was amazing and the place is beautiful even under tons of water! The owner was so nice and offered us a complimentary champagne

Went to BDK with a girlfriend! We ordered the deviled eggs and ceviche to start. Both extremely strong appetizers. Deviled eggs are considered a southern staple, and as a born and raised Carolina boy, I definitely appreciate the homage to the original deviled egg, however the Chicagoan in me absolutely loved the elevation of the eggs with the additional gourmet ingredients.

Well we came with the intention to sit outside on the patio but in true Chicago fashion, the weather has other ideas. First they sat us in what really should’ve been a table for 2, and then they moved us to a bigger table but the most wobbly. We did have some issues with we wanted grey goose for our drinks (which is listed as an option) to be told they don’t offer it. We then put our orders in, everything was good and we enjoyed it but when we tried to order dessert 2 of the options weren’t even available
