"The Gage Restaurant: A Culinary Journey Through Chicago"

The Gage restaurant Our favorite Chicago restaurant. It’s just perfect every time. The cocktails, the burrata was insane, so good. Oysters were so yum, love the vibe, the staff, the music. Strawberry sundae! Amazing. Our fave place to celebrate

Great outdoor patio, fast service, bar, cocktails . Near Art Institute, Millennium Park. I had barbecue ribs, elote, and nonalcoholic hibiscus punch. Ribs were a little salty. Drink was filled to top of glass, so I spilled all over my dress picking it up. Large portions, tasty food

 Reviews

The best steak I have ever eaten in my life was here on my last night in the city. My friend had the hamburger and said the same thing. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was fantastic! Thank you for making my trip to Chicago

We went to The Gage on St. Patrick’s Day, right after the parade. We made reservations in advance and they moved seamlessly. Despite being packed in the bar area, they had regular seating with reservations and our service was excellent.

We expected the place to be busy on St. Patrick’s Day (and it was), but the staff was amazing. They moved quickly, kept crowds away from tables and the service was top notch. They didn’t make you feel rushed just because they were busy.

The food was phenomenal. They made a leprechaun cake hat with gold flecked ice cream. The had the regular menu available, as well as a special St. Patrick’s Day menu. And they even had a bagpiper going room to room.

I’ve been a Chicagoan for over two decades and I expected chaos. I was so surprised by how flawlessly they managed everything and their quality was not compromised in any way. This place is one of the best in Chicago.

After strolling around Millennial Park stop by The Gage, Jack the bartender makes an awesome drink. We chose a Scotch Egg as a special snack and it was a great treat. Jack poured us a cognac Manhattan and it really hit the spot. Lots to chose from so if your in the area add The Gage to your trip

We loved our meal here! All of our meals were excellent. We tried the scotch egg (very good) and the spicy ceviche (also very good) to start. We also ordered some truffle fries and the dipping sauce is to die for. For mains we had the venison burger which was excellent and the Alaskan halibut which was also very good. They were cooked perfectly. One of the most fun things was the peach cobbler with sweet corn ice cream. Very good but you better still have an appetite because it is very large. The service was exceptional. They were very attentive and quick to refill water and take away plates. We would highly recommend this place

First visit to The Gage. The restaurant is very historic and beautiful. We chose to dine on the patio because it was such a lovely day. However, service seemed slow and unenthusiastic; plus, we were celebrating a birthday and no mention was made of it. Tables seated after us were served and finished before us. The wedge salad and warm zucchini bread were amazing though! Will give it a try another time and perhaps sit at the gorgeous bar
