Banana Leaf

The appetizers are amazing, the dindigul biryani is almost authentic, the best one I’ve had in the US. Overall you wont be disappointed going there The best biryanis anywhere, both dum biryani (made in a pot sealed off with dough) and mandi biryani (where the protein and veggies are cooked separately. We go in every week for the southern style saag paneer, the stuffed eggplant and tindora (little gourds) alone.

The goat dishes are excellent, fall-off-the-bone tender meat and cooked with the bones (be careful for shards) for more flavor. Friendly but very casual service since this is a takeout kitchen that was made into a restaurant by popular demand. Open late on week-ends.

The best South Indian food hands down. I’ve never had briyani as good as the ones I had at Banana Leaf, the flavors were amazing and the chicken mouth watering. If you love hydrabadi food then you must try Banana Leaf. You won’t be disappointed. I was looking for south indian food near my house. Fortunately, I was very happy when Banana Leaf opened their new branch in downtown. Their hospitality is amazing. Mainly I fell in love with their food. Their Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan were simply amazing. Also I had their Chicken 65 Biryani. Which my friend and I liked very much.

Best place to hangout with friends and family where you can enjoy authentic spicy Indian food. The spicy boneless chicken halal biryani is the best biryani and gave the test buds to reminisce about the Hyderabadi biryani. The vegetarian food was amazing too. The staff were very responsive and overall, enjoyed the weekend to the fullest! Food was delicious and the amount served was reasonable.

The taste was quite balanced and it was suitable for my kids as well. Restaurant’s ambience was good and was quite clean !! Staffs were very polite and helpful. In short : Great place to taste some original Indian taste. Must visit. Food was very traditional and flavor was customized as per ordered. Everything is freshly prepared and cooked pretty well. Garlic Butter Naan was great. Rogan josh went were well with that. Organic Hyderabad Chicken(Halal) Dum Biryan was very aromatic and delicious. Spices reminds about authentic Indian food(Back in India).

The people who run this place are always kind and I think food quality is above most Indian restaurants in the area. It’s kind of low key, so if you’re a needy person then this may not be for you. I appreciate that they serve in traditional dishes too—many places in LA do not. I tried their Biryani and Curry items so many times, these are definitely delicious. But this time I also tried some of their special drinks which were really good. Feels like drinking Juice in my country. Thanks to Banana Leaf for the tasty drinks.

The food at this place is a delightful combination of simplicity, flavor, and authenticity. The ambience is rustic and original, allowing you to fully concentrate on the food without unnecessary frills. We had the roti here, and I must say it was the best and nearly perfect roti I’ve ever tasted, priced at just $1, which is unbeatable. So, without a doubt, try their roti along with a curry from their menu. We also sampled a few other dishes, and they were all incredibly delicious.

finally

This is my new favorite restaurant in LA. Extremely yummy food. So far we ordered paneer biryani taste is exceptionally awesome, then we ordered samosa chat and chicken 65. We are planning to order from here all the South Indian food we crave.
