The restaurant has a great ambience. My favorite food is the braised ribs and a nice glass of for Fox sake cider. The waiters and waitresses are so nice!. You will love it there!. Oh and let us not forget. They’re delicious desserts. Yummy

First ate here 2 years ago while visiting from Oregon & really enjoyed my experience. Went back tonight and the Whip exceeded my memories and expectations. I thought my meal two years ago was good, but tonight was exceptional.

Our order:

• Welsh rarebit

• Scotch Egg

• Sheppard’s pie

• Banger’s & mash

• Sticky toffee pudding

Not one weak moment all evening. Every dish was perfect, and the service was lovely. Thank you, for making my trip extra special! (Apologies for the sloppy photos, we were hungry and excited!) Pictured: Welsh rarebit, bangers & mash, + bathroom wallpaper that we loved.

A favorite whenever I’m in the area. The food….MUST get the Welsh rarebit. It’s an addicting cheese dip. The bubble and squeak is #2. There’s some vegetarian options like falafel, sides and salad. Sometimes the daily curry is vegetarian which is so yummy.

Today I got the Tavern Salad which has a strong stilton cheese dressing, and a side of sweet potato casserole, plus loaded up on apps. Also shared the side of mushy peas, which is a very British thing and imo a must. If you have room, you won’t regret the sticky toffee pudding, it’s indulgent. Drinks….only beer and cider. Can byo wine The ambience….little spot in the middle of rural Chester county, feels like stumbling across a local British pub in England. Always British sports on TV inside

The best Guinness in lower Pennsylvania is poured here. Good pub food is served and when the rush picks up this smaller restaurant gets full & lively. A great place to watch rugby, football, etc. This is a must go restaurant. I stumbled upon this looking for restaurants because we were stopping by the Dansko outlet. We were pleased with everything. The atmosphere is warm, and a little loud so pretty family friendly. Parking can be challenging, but they have free valet for busier times. Have the sticky pudding. It is a must!!

This is one of my wife and I’s favorite places ever! If we lived closer this would be a weekly visit for us. But even living a further away when the mood strikes we have NO problem driving the hour and 1/2 to experience The Whip. If it was just for the Sticky Toffee Pudding alone I would drive it! So, so good! This is a very unique place and we will most definitely be back for repeat visits!

As an Englishman I’m somewhat biased towards English food restaurants, but this place is wonderful. Great service, friendly staff, great atmosphere very reminiscent of an English country pub. The food was delicious, I had the fish and chips. Good portion size. I like the fact that it was haddock and not presented as cod. Bangers and mash was delicious also. Best sausages I’ve ever had in a restaurant! The sticky toffee pudding was a fantastic after. Will definitely be back. Cheers!

finally

Great food and a friendly staff make this place very popular. No reservations and sometimes a long wait but it’s worth it. Delicious beer on tap and you can bring your own wine. Located in a beautiful setting in horse country.
