Fava Pot Restaurant Washington DC

Fava Pot Restaurant Washington DC  Frankly, one of the best Egyptian restaurants in America as a whole, cleanliness, good breath in the kitchen, and innovative decor thanks to the decorator who made it, and before I do not forget to thank you, the manager of the restaurant, frankly, six of the best in dealing, sophistication and good reception, I strongly recommend visiting it.

I must say that I was never a big fan of Egyptian cuisine based on my limited experience here in the US with some of the scarce options. In fact, I always joked around that Egyptian cuisine is so poor because the Egyptians were super busy building the great pyramids and didn’t have much time to perfect their cuisine despite the super rich history they offered to the world. However, a friend of mine introduced me to this joint and I reluctantly accepted the invite.

But I gotta tell you that I was very stunned with the quality and the flavor of the food there. The mulukhiyah with hen, the appetizers, the freshly baked bread, the lamb shank, I mean you name it. Every dish is stunningly more delicious than the other. The management and service, along with the price all check out perfectly for me. I wish I was introduced in the proper manner to Egyptian cuisine early on like in this place! I super highly recommend and will absolutely frequent this place. Parking is free and plenty.

Hidden neighborhood gem. Everything was cooked and prepared really well. The Gollash was our favorite appetizer. The chicken kabob (they use dark meat) is a unique and heavenly combination of juicy but yet smoky with decent flavor. My favorite meat was actually the Kofta, which I found to be deliciously seasoned full of amazing spices. None of the meats was dry. The hummus was really tasty as well. Make sure you absolutely leave room for dessert and top it all of with the Kunafa with sweet cheese–no brainer dessert choice. One is plenty to share for two as it is sweet and filling. Overall, highly recommend Fava Pot! Bonus points for being a local establishment and a family business.
