The food was amazing with large portions and very reasonable price. Their yogurt dip was fantastic and they brought us free dips on the house for us to try! My favorite is definitely their lamp chop. Omg the smocked eggplant purée in it was amazing! The service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Got the bbq platter and it was amazing. Gave us the opportunity to try the different kabobs on the menu. All of it was cooked perfectly. Also had the pleasure of trying the samosas and would highly recommend as a tasty appetizer. The biryani had just the right level of spice. The bread was fluffy and buttered, and the chutney had a delicious kick to it. The owner/chef was very humble and checked in often to make sure we were well taken care of.

3. Halal Restaurants in Washington DC – Mama Ayesha’s Restaurant

Mama Ayesha's Restaurant

One of my two favorite Mediterranean food places in D.C. The service here is very attentive and quick and the food is amazing. Nice dim and calm evening atmosphere. I love the Lamb Shank or Salmon Meshwi with lamb stuffed grape leaves and a hummus or falafel plate. Everything here is good so really no bad choices. Whether you’re a meat eater or seafood or vegan you’ll still find some good options here.

Fantastic authentic Mediterranean food! I went there with three others and we all loved the food there. I ordered the stuffed squash, and I had never had anything like it. It was very flavorful. Just a tip: if you go there particularly hungry, make sure to order an appetizer, the portions there are on the smaller side (it would probably be fine if you weren’t really hungry, though). Loved the hummus platter too!

Honestly we loved this small hidden restaurant. The manager and servers were amazing, warm, and funny. They were very welcoming to my large, loud, and energetic family and friends 😂 . The food was great, and I am very picky. I have never had Afghan food and am now very open to try something new again.

If you are anywhere near Lebanese Taverna, make an effort to eat here. The food, service and atmosphere are top notch. The Hummus Trio was delicious, probably the best I’ve had, in part due to the fresh-out-of-the oven, airy, light homemade pita bread. This was followed by the chicken curry entree which was aromatic, juicy and tender, with just the right amount of spice. We ended the meal with the home made bakalava topped w/pistachio ice cream. Sa7tayn Bil hana!

It was crowded and well worth the wait! #12 lamb was awesome, as well as the chicken and sirloin! We were recommended the spinach with the curry rice! Authentic food, systematic service , we got it to go because of the crowd!

Think of the best diner you’ve ever been to… now replace all the home-style diner comfort food with some of the best Pakistani favorites like the House Lamb Chops, various Kabobs, Stewed Chickpeas, and Curry Goat. Among all of the great kabob spots around the area, this is the only one that’s open 24/7. My last visit was with a couple friends after a long day hosting a conference nearby, so we decided to treat ourselves… and treat ourselves we did.

Overall, the food is consistently great no matter what time of day [or night] you stop in. The service tends to be a bit slow. Expect to wait anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes for your food if you’re walking in depending on the line. Pro tip: Call ahead, skip the line. The wait time is my only gripe, otherwise this place is pretty solid. And the portions are huge, so if you leave hungry, it’s your own damn fault.

Staff is great and the food better. Had the catfish sandwich and flatbread pizza. Sangria was great and so was the long island. Music was good and not too loud. Hate being somewhere and have to yell unless I’m at the club. Definitely worth checking out.

Nachos! Nachos! Oh, and Divine service. Yes, I really mean Divine, like God sent… and our waiters name was actually Divine. Hence the consistency of the uppercase letter D. She was very attentive, helpful and professional. Personable in every way; an absolute pleasure and perfect addition to our party. This place was suggested by a friend (local) of my sister (in from LA) for various reasons. Needless to say, we were pleased. It’s a good look, great food and all of the right books. Thanks Busboys and Poets.

The first time I came, I got the Gyro Salad and it was so good! First of all, they have a ton of salad items and they let me get as much as I wanted. Second, they cut lamb off the spit and grilled it so it was really warm and juicy. Then I topped it off with their green sauce (no idea what it’s made of) but it was delicious. The following times, I got the Greek pizza (trust me, GET IT!!!), baked chicken wings, and the kabobs. I haven’t tried anything that I’ve been anything but extremely happy with. They do it right: keep the menu small but make everything really good! Try it, you won’t regret it!!

Delicious food. Cheap, quick and good! We got the lamb over rice, chicken over rice, combo over rice and the lamb gyro. The lamb and chicken were wonderfully cooked and juicy. Definitely going back here again.

I was a little hesitant because some halal food places aren’t that good. But I ended up coming with friends on a DC trip and it was the best decision I made! I had the chicken&gyro platter with the white and hot sauce and jalapeños. It was delicious! I definitely plan on going again when I visit DC. The prices were great and the portion was huge! I hope they put one in Raleigh, NC.
