Largest selection of Japanese Whiskey in the Midwest. I’ve known Executive Chef Macku Chan for 15 years, during which time he operated another very successful sushi restaurant in a different Chicago neighborhood

We decided to go this past Saturday and – helpful hint – make reservations! We didn’t have a reservation, but were fortunately enough to get a seat at the sushi bar. Watching the chefs if always a lot of fun anyway, so we certainly didn’t mind

Absolutely delicious sushi. At first glance through of the menu I was a little worried because I’m vegan and it didn’t seem very vegan friendly. However asking the waiter fixed that problem. The chef offered 3 vegan rolls “veggie special”, cucumber and avocado. The cucumber was a standard 6 piece cucumber roll. But the veggie special was worth it. 8 pieces and it was similar to one of their special rolls with veggies subbed in for the fish. Honestly I wish I had ordered two of those instead. And only $15 (before tax) for those two rolls.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. We had a reservation for 8:30 and were told they could not seat us because the kitchen was running behind. We were told 30 minute wait, then 10 minutes. However it did end up becoming a 30 minute wait. There were 10 people (5 couples) standing around in a very tight space waiting to be seated. We tried to order from the bar and server just straight up refused to take an order because “we are so busy, we just can’t). We were told the manager will come speak to us but they never did.
What a disappointment. Not the frontline staff’s fault, but an event that was meant to be special was completely ruined by management’s lack of foresight
