Mayflower Chinese Washington DC This is one of my favorite local Chinese restaurants. Yes it’s a hole-in-the-wall, but that’s part of its charm. The food is always good. I’m vegetarian and they have good options, especially the General Tso’s Bean Curd, and Broccoli in Ginger Sauce. You can get it with brown rice. Despite these negative reviews they are always busy.

$16.50 for this? No, sorry this is very average to poor Kung Pao chicken. Not much to eat and poor flavor. You can do better Mayflower!

They talked about Kung Pao chicken is very tasty and hot also like to eat beef and broccoli and fried rice and also like that a homemade chicken fried rice with the Iced Teas and very good is for Number One Chinese place in Washington DC

Mayflower on Wisconsin and in Mt Pleasant are fantastic staples in both neighborhoods! We’ve been committed customers since 2012 and have never been disappointed. Our favorites are orange chicken and garlic eggplant. Their vegetarian menu is quite good.

So, generic Chinese ” counter” restaurant with a few tables. But, the food is simurorisingky good. The owner is from Fujian province and looking forward to asking if they prepare some regional dishes vs American greatest hits…four stars is slightly generous and really a reference to the above it’s class average rather than an absolute foodie scale..
