Sammys Halal Food Restaurant Brooklyn Easily one of the best chicken over the rice platters I’ve had. I’m a native and this place always hits the spot, go to late night place. The chicken is seasoned well and the rice is delicious as well. The red hot sauce is flavorful and not too spicy. White sauce hits too. Love this place.

The chicken over rice was great some of the most flavorful chicken, nicely spiced up.
Definitely would like to try the gyros next.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the platters were. Tried both the lamb and chicken platters and I have to say that they’re better than the Halal guys. The meat is more tender and the rice more flavorful. I will certainly be ordering again—both my wife and I are really happy w/ the place!The best kept secret in New York City. For just $5 you can get yourself a delicious gyro with incredibly juicy chicken. I would say the one downside is there’s sometimes a line and the one guy in the cart is handling both cooking, online orders, and the square tablet, so you might be standing for a while, but I promise it’s worth it.

The server at this food truck changed recently and since then the service / quality / cleanliness has significantly worsened. Not only is this new server very rude / unfriendly, but I had food poisoning the next day for the first time in the year I’ve been going (I go at least once a week).
Needless to say, I will not be patronizing this place again until I see this new server removed and replaced with friendlier / more competent management.
