Wazwan Restaurant chicago

Wazwan’s tasting menu is superb – interesting, exciting, different and excellently executed. The coachhouse in some respects is the opposite of the white-table clothed classic tasting menu venues – the decor is pretty but not polished, the bathroom is basic, staff are running in and out with industrial sized pots etc. But what it lacks in that traditional polish, the coachhouse makes up for in its exquisite food, quaint charm and personality.

Every dish is superb, but the duck in particular was 10/10, as was the accompanying story told by the chef about the 1000 year old recipe used to make it. Chef Zubair doesn’t need any fancy props or dry ice – his inventive dishes, execution and personality makes the Coachhouse a must visit

They were having a private party and they were only doing take outs but after when we told them that we drove 4 hours to be in Chicago, they let us eat, which we appreciated so much. But more than that the food was so amazing. Everything we ordered from momos, to mushroom Korma and chettinad chicken. Everything so delicious. But I have to go ahead and say it, all the people who are working there were so welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely come back. Thank you for an amazing experience We also got so hungry that forgot to take pictures of our main course.

WOW! This was an excellent fresh take on South Asian spices and flavor profiles fused with Western proteins and elements. Not only was every course intentional and delicious, the service was warm, friendly and overall great vibes! We were so thrilled with the tasting menu that we also had to try the main menu as well… So we ordered the chicken Sando and the nihari Momo.

So glad we did because it was an excellent night cap for my belly! Shout out to Chef Zubair, drinks guru Kevin, and Abraham for making our first experience so fun and memorable! We are already planning another trip back! Highly recommend everyone try out Wazwan and the Wazwan Coach House tasting menu… This is the type of non-restaurant group owned establishment that I love to support

Unique fusion flavors bringing together indian and south-east asian cuisines. They do dine and take-out with a comfort food menu that keeps changing. Additionally, there’s a more upscale tasting menu experience that you can buy tickets for via Tock. We walked-in for the casual options and got Nihari Momos, THC Chicken Sando, Inaloban, and Fries. Inaloban stood out as a unique and delectable ‘Pho meets curry’ dish. Spent $55 for a party of 2 and had leftovers. Service was top-notch. This place made a great first impression. We’ll be back to try their tasting menu.

I went to the Coach House a few weeks ago for the Indian/Mexican menu and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Just incredible. Chef Zubair sat with us for 30 min, explaining the menu and getting to know each other. Cannot recommend highly enough.

finally

This place is an absolute Chicago gem. The food is absolutely amazing bursting with flavors and one of kinda menu items. The service is top notch. You walk in and it’s as if they all know you and treat you like their friend. The owner is such an amazing guy always friendly and accomodating. He made sure I liked everything (which I did) and had a casual conversation with me. It’s a really home feel with a Michellen star type menu without the ridiculous Michellen star pricing. This is a must go spot in Chicago you won’t be disappointed!
