The Northman restaurant An excellent location to try very unique hard ciders that you can’t just get anywhere. They have a wonderful selection of New World, sweet, dry, fruited, English, and French ciders and many more. And, the views of the city and river make for a unique experience

Loved the beer. Friendly staff and good beer selection. They have ciders too which I would think is specialty there as pretty much every one there was sipping on it there. It is good spot to grab a drink and enjoy near river walk.

Recommended foods

Good selection of beer and tasty snacks! The mustard with the pretzel was very spicy and tasty. We sat by the small supplementary bar and it was good for several of the beers, snacks and other drinks. To get all the selections of beer and food, you had to go wait in line (half a star down for that). Also the bathroom situation knocks them down another half star, so total of 4 stars. It helped that it was a gorgeous day along the river. They had lots of seating, so that was nice

Great location with ample seating. Great food and drinks and good prices. The food came pretty quickly and you get your drinks when you order at the front. Restrooms for customers only.

Friendly service and great beer selection. Plenty of seating with amazing views. Took one star away because they were out of 3 different beers I tried to order still on the menu and because they’re a bit pricey. Regardless, great place to relax in the shade and have a good beer

Amazing views and speedy service. Try the pub cider and Chicago dog. Cheese plate is fantastic as well as a snack.

I was out walking at dusk, decided I needed a rest and some food, stopped here for a brat. If restaurant success depends on location this place has got it made. There are few places more pleasant in Chicago than the new river walk and the Northman has a choice spot. All the river walk joints are a little pricey. The Northman had a large array of potables including Austrian pilsner. This was a wonderful place to sit and watch day turn to night.
