I’ve had a great time in this upscale Chinese restaurant. We’ve tried their lobster dish and a tofu dish. Their service was extremely tentative. The wait staff were observant of our needs, providing additional utensils and tools before we even asked for them or realizing that we needed them. They also have a temperature check at the door, during this COVID era. It was funny watching them lifting up the entire stand to reach my forehead to check temperature. They could probably try a hand-held IR gauge instead. It is not a cheap place, but you get what you paid for: Excellent food, quality service, and a great time! It is definitely on my list next time I’m in DC.

Visiting comment :

Very good traditional Szechuan food. The ma po tofu was amazing and the ma la wontons were the best I’ve had in a long time. My friend got the General Tso’s chicken, which I joked was the least Chinese item on the menu. It was also great with a special Szechuan twist on it. I will have to come back and try more on the menu.

New Big Wong Restaurant in Washington DC The food was good. Service was good. It’s open late nights. I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp, Hunan Style and Egg Roll (shrimp and beef). The Hunan Shrimp could have been a little more spicy, but it was still good.

Fun haggling with the waitresses in the sense that if you’re American they try to steer you towards simple items like Orange chicken. Good for them for doing this, I can’t imagine the complains they get from would be food explorers who then decide they were somehow deceived.

Good food and good location. Food taste so delicious, and big place to eat. They have upstairs room which can accommodate 100 people. The only issue I gave 4 star is the server, maybe they just too tired so they serve just like robot. I wave my hand several times and they just like pretend not see me. If you just want to eat then it is okay to choose this restaurant, anyway we come to restaurant only for eat not to make friends

Wah Sing Restaurant in Washington DC  Wah Sing restaurant has the most delicious Egg foo young. That’s the only thing I order from them. I would recommend this item on their menu. They probably have other wonderful food on their menu I just love Egg foo young. I would stop by and give them a look.

First things first, I would eat their food again and it’s CASH ONLY. The dining area could use some SERIOUS updating, better tables, better chairs, better floors, and better lights. We ate in, so everything was super fresh and HOT and delicious! It was a party of 5 we ordered general Tso chicken, shrimp lo mien, beef+chicken+shrimp with mixed veggies, chicken wings, shrimp egg fu young, egg rolls, and hot tea.

Busy on a Friday night so we only got drinks and an app to go but both were great. Steamed pork buns were tender and delicious with just the right amount of sauce to make them perfect without being a dripping mess to eat with your hands as good steamed buns are intended. Two cocktails to go served up in medicine bottles to go with the Chinese Medicine theme of the cocktail menu . A great little spot down the alley but plan ahead unlike us, me a reservation early. This hot spot is going to get another visit from us so we can sample the other food and drinks they offer. More To Follow!

This is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in DC! The Peking duck is my favorite and a half duck is enough for two people. The restaurant is owned by very friendly staff who have been around for years and continue to provide excellent service. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. Plus, during COVID, the restaurant took excellent precautions and offered carryout only. What more could you ask for? Great place.

CHIKO Restaurant in Washington DC Pretty delicious food!! The place was a little small for seating area, but the food came out hot and ready. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Me and my friends, did a family style meal and tried a lil bit of a few things on the menu. No regrets!! Plus this place is right off the metro too

We did the $50/person chef’s counter to celebrate a birthday and it was hands down the best meal I’ve had in DC in 2019. The service is welcoming and attentive – always willing and able to give context and detail to what each dish is and how it fits into the overall experience. We had the pleasure of having the royal menu and I still dream about the duck taco a month later.

Originally I left a comment about Hong Kong saying it was one of the best carry outs in DC and the quality of their food stayed the same for years. Scratch that! I’ve always loved their steak and cheese subs and that’s what I mainly get 90% of the time because their steak was real and not the fake rubbery steak most of the other carry outs have but I went and got one the other day and sure enough their steak changed and it’s rubbery like those other carry outs! They caved in I guess and went the cheap way after all this time being different and better than the other carry outs. I’ve been getting their S&C for decades now I will never get one again unless they change back to the real steak!!
