Food was good but the girl who took my order never brought my water to my table that I asked for. I had to ask the chef. And I saw her attentive to 2 other tables only. Plus I waited a long time for her to bring my check to my table. Needs better customer service that is why I didn’t tip.

So today I ordered a GOAT PEPPER SOUP earlier this afternoon on door dash. And when my food arrived it was NOT pepper soup. I order their pepper soup almost every other day. Today they gave me chunks of beef in some chicken noodle soup tasting broth. I am not impressed. And I am not satisfied. If they couldn’t make my order correct like they normally do then that should have not accepted the order!

I’ve been waiting for this day! Nando’s is reopen and all is right with the world. The chicken at this place is awesome. One of my all time favorite places to eat. When I walked in the cashier was right there to help. She was nice and friendly giving her suggestions on the food. My food came out nice and hot and someone stopped by a few minutes later to see if everything was good. Definitely a place to go when in DC!

I wish there was a negative star. Purchased a nice side order to get home and throw everything in the trash. Egussi was salty, jollof had an interesting smell and the few grains I tasted seemed to be old. Meat was three tiny pieces of some over cooked chicken, beef and fish. I knew there was a reason I stayed away from this place and today confirms it. Now I sit here with a queezy stomach praying I don’t develop food poisoning 😫

I had been looking for some good Egusi Soup since Naija Cafe in Clinton is too far from me. Then one day I took a chance to order them off Doordash. They have THE BEST egusi I have ever tasted! Very well seasoned & the goat meat was SOOO tender & the pounded yam was so soft and fresh & it wasn’t too spicy which I was happy about ☺ wish it had ponmo in it also 😩 the only issue is for 17$ I wish that it came in a much bigger container

I read the reviews so I was prepared and able to exercise patience in order to enjoy my visit. It took a long time for us to be seated (like 10 min of being ignored) and way longer for the waitress to come over to get our order. She brought a sample plate since my friend never had west African food before. I loved getting to taste everything so that I could see which dishes they really do well. We ended up ordering pepper soup (with cow foot), egusi, and palava sauce. All of it was AMAZING!! I also tried the ginger juice since I wasn’t aware it was BYOB and neglected to bring a bottle. The owner was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was much better than it was at Appioo. I’ll definitely be back

I have to say, I enjoyed my experience at Appioo. The taste is amazing and melts right in your mouth. The staff and service were delightful and professional. I was quite impressed with how the fast the service was. Give them a try, especially during this season where a lot of small businesses are struggling.
