Yemen Restaurant Brooklyn

Yemen Restaurant Brooklyn Had a craving for a lamb shank so I decided to come to Yemen Cafe. I’ve had this place on my must visit list for years so I finally made the visit. It certainly did not disappoint. They start you off with a lamb broth soup, bread, and salad before serving the main meal, which comes quick. The lamb shank is fall off the bone tender and is truly one of the best I’ve had. I would say for the type of restaurant, it’s a little more expensive than you would think but definifely worth it. I’ll for sure be back and want to try some of the other dishes as well, both chicken and lamb.

Food was amazing a lot of small plates are available with your entree order. Loved the baba ganoush and the mixed grill. The outside dining was very nice.

One of the best Authentic Yemenis Spot in NYC , if you don’t know now you know. This is a family owned restaurant in the heart of Downtown Manhattan serving up some good eats. At the moment they also have a outdoor setup , it first come first serve. Went with a group of friends we ordered few dishes. All I remember the Lamb Shank was delicious , it literally just fell of the bone. Also make sure to have their tea with like milk !!

We were seated quickly, and were soon served the complimentary soup and bread. The soup and bread were excellent, and the waiters were quick on their feet. After we ordered our food things started going a bit downhill. It took a long time for the food to come, the roasted chicken was dry and didn’t really have much flavor. The same goes for the Lamb Haneeth, but it was a bit better than the chicken. The waiters took forever to bring to-go-boxes and the check. They were very courteous though. I’ll probably give this place another shot but it didn’t have the wow factor that I’ve been hearing about.

Ordered the Lamb Haneeth + Fatah with Honey. A ton of food for two people, for a great price. Would definitely come back.

They open from 3pm-12:30am during Ramadan. FYI their current hours on google maps are not up to date (as of this post on 4/17/21)
