Real experience
The food was superb… though it could have been 10 degrees hotter (I think our table did get a little lost in the shuffle since I don’t think we were anyone’s assignment for the evening and then we suddenly showed up with 9 people). I had Elk Medallions (an improvisation due to the usual Reindeer Medallions being unavailable) and they were amazing. I also had some delicious Alaskan beers, and the Strawberry Rhubard Crumble (which, the crumble could have also been 10 degrees hotter.

I started eating my absolutely delicious meal accidentally before I got a pic of it…We were in a hurry and had to get our food to go but this place was recommended by my wife’s grandparents so we went and I’d like to go back again for sure. I had the salmon with potatoes and vegetables and wow that was a good flavor to have as my first alaskan meal.
We got there at a late time for lunch so it wasn’t busy so we sat at the bar and had a beer while waiting on our to-go order. But I wish I could eat that meal more often. My wife had a seafood meal with muscles and shrimp etc and she said it was also great.

The restaurant is nice and has a lot of different food options. But the seafood platter was a let down. The salmon was dry and the king crab legs were frozen, so they weren’t very fresh. The restaurant is decorated nicely, though. There are a lot of good spots to take pictures. I heard it’s been around for a long time, and I’m sure it’ll be around for many more years.

My dinner experience at the Pump House on the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska, was delightful, with a meal comprising of Fresh Sourdough bread, Seafood Soup, fresh steamed clams accompanied by Reindeer sausage, and a main course of bacon-wrapped Elk Medallions complemented by an Alaskan Porter. Everything was wonderful & delicious.

What a cute restaurant! The atmosphere is so quaint and cozy. I loved that they had a bit of the history of the restaurant on their menu! The staff was super friendly and helpful! It was cold out, so I wanted a nice warm beverage, and I asked for a hot mocha. Turns out they don’t have them on the menu, but they threw in the chocolate that they use to make chocolate milk to a Latte for me and it tasted really good! I loved how above and beyond they went.
The food….sooo good! It is a bit pricey, but I knew that going into it. Such a wonderful experience though. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting from out of town. They were unfortunately out of the reindeer medallions, but they offered a reindeer sausage, so at least I got to try reindeer in some form. I ordered the lamb chops, though, and they were divine! The dessert…to die for! Very rich, so I would recommend sharing. They had so many yummy options though! 10/10! When I come back to Fairbanks, I’ll definitely be going here again!
finally
THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD! this is the first time we’ve been in fairbanks and it’s the best meal we’ve had. it was very filling, delicious, and overall just gave us that amazing well-fed feeling. the place the very nice and clean. amazing staff as well, she was able to get us a table even though we didn’t have reservations and they were very full.
