Real experience
We stopped in here for dinner. What an amazing place. It is a restaurant and bar with an old west, cowboy theme. It also has an outdoor eating area and live music on the weekends. The place has tons of character. All the staff were friendly and efficient. It was busy but the service was fast. The owner even took time to walk and visit all the tables to check on the customers.
The food was delicious, easily the best meal we have had in the Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside area. Portions were large and even the presentation was elevated. We had the Covered Wagon and the Beef Stroganoff. The flavors for both were excellent. For dessert we had the Bourbon Pecan Pie and Caramel Apple Cheesecake. Again the presentations were elegant and the flavors were out of this world. Can’t wait until we can get back to try out more of the menu.

We came on a Friday around 6:30pm and were seated right away. The service was very good and we all enjoyed our food choices. We has the salmon, fish fry and burnt ends mac n cheese with jalapeños. Highly recommend!

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The service was so family friendly, with attentive staff consistently checking on us and the children.
The chefs really do know what they are doing with every dish, especially in the perfectly cooked medium rare steak – a rare find indeed! I have never been to a restaurant where my steak was cooked to the way I actually asked.
Be sure to not forget the cheesecake, which was worth every calorie. This restaurant is truly a gem because of its owners hard work and effort that does not go unnoticed and I can’t wait to return for another memorable dining experience.

We both ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak and potatoes were delicious, but we will not get this entree again. This is where this review won’t quite make sense. This meal might be completely to your alley.
The gravy was sweet. It tasted like there was honey in it. I’m guessing this is a popular meal here since there are plenty of other reviews and photos of this meal. When we order chicken fried steak and potatoes were looking for something savory and not sweet.
In our eyes this was disappointing. You would think that if we didn’t like something it deserves a bad review but that is not the case. Just because it wasn’t to our taste, doesn’t mean it didn’t taste good. It had great taste, just not what we wanted.

Over the last 3 years we have visited this restaurant and the food is always great! A short drive off the main highway through town, this is a hidden secret in the White Mountains. The food is consistent and flavourful. The staff is always nice and considerate. Which compliments the dining atmosphere… a bar and dining room with wood accents throughout.
Only critiques would be that the bar has sports memorabilia and can look out of place, but no biggie. Also, there are a couple of dark rooms that don’t seem to be used, odd but not critical. This is a favorite spot for us, and don’t be surprised to be greeted by the owners as they check in on guests often. A MUST STOP if you’re ever in the White Mountains. PS their bartenders have always been on point with the drinks.
