Real experience

Alaskan Salmon Cacio e Pepe was wonderful and fresh and Karsten’s Tomato Caprese soup was chock full of flavor. Our main server Decker was so attentive and helpful as we just arrived and were a bit disorientated, but he settled us down and provided the best possible experience. Oh, and the chocolate cookie dessert is to die for.

You cannot beat the service we received at Karstens Public House. My husband and I ate here during a stay at McKinley Chalet Resort. You can either walk down the hill, or take the shuttle from the Resort to get to Karstens. The restaurant had a great atmosphere.

There was live music in the square, which I believe they do every night. We got to choose whether we wanted to eat inside or outside on the large patio. We had spent the entire day outside, so opted to eat inside for this meal. Our waiter was top-notch. He made sure our entire meal was perfect.

The food was really good. We were incredibly hungry, as it was dinner and we hadn’t had a meal all day. We ordered appetizers and a meal. My husband got the reindeer meatloaf, and I ordered cod and house chips. We had a lot of leftovers, because the serving sizes were large. The price was about the same as all other restaurants in the area. We were very pleased!

We came for an early dinner. We had the shrimp queso, very good. We had the fish and chips. The portion sizes were big. The fish was cod, it was flaky, and well battered. Fries were good, too. They also have a coffee bar.

Out of all the restaurants we ate in Denali in our 3 days tour, this was the best in price and food quality. Service was a little slow as it was busy and there’s only limited servers working there. But the rockfish and sprout Brussels was great. We took a fish burger home and it was also amazing. Will definitely recommend.

We had the breakfast buffet, which was pricey but had a good selection. The potatoes were nondescript. The cheese scrambled Eggs were very good. The reindeer sausage had a tough casing but was delicious. The bacon was good, but had a hard seasoned edge to it that was almost not chewable. The server only checked our coffee once during the meal, which I found disappointing.

Great place for a drink! We had the yummy coffee and breakfast sandwich at coffee/breakfast counter! Friendly, efficient staff!

Food was really good and the service is great. Host and server were really friendly! Would recommend the fish and chips and king crab roll. They also have great cocktails and drinks.

Highly atmospheric place with a ski lodge vibe. Wonderful fireplaces warm up guests if they opt to sit outdoors. Jessica from Ohio was our very accommodating and friendly server – it was a very busy night and our orders took a bit more time but she kept us regularly informed. Fish & chips was excellent and so was the Rockfish. The Smoked Brisket was a bit on the tough side (expecting it to melt-in-mouth) but the sides were delicious. Portions are very generous with lots of fresh vegetable sides. Desserts were somewhat limited
