Real experience
Absolutely amazing food! I don’t eat fish myself, but I was still able to get a burger that was probably the best I’ve ever had in my life. HOWEVER, my parents both love fish. They had the salmon fish and chips, the soup, and the AK sampler tacos. They gave glowing reviews of the freshness, seasoning, and overall taste, stating that it was the best fish they had eaten throughout all of our trip.
The staff was super friendly and cleared tables off very quickly. Something of note is that you order at the register and then take a table marker to any seat, where your food is then brought out to you. Overall amazing!

In my humble opinion; best chowder and fries in town. Not your traditional clam chowder, more of a seafood chowder and a little dill forward, but well balanced and very tasty. Also, the fries are cooked to perfection and tossed in some sort of addictively good rub/seasoning.
They also have open mic night so I found myself visiting the Alaskan Fish House twice in my week long stay in Ketchikan. It was a very sweet, family-friendly event with lots of local talent and again, great food… and drinks too! Also, great location with really nice atmosphere and lots of natural light to take in all those great surroundings and views.

The three of us ordered a bunch of stuff to share, including the AK Sampler Fish & Chips, Halibut Tacos, Dungeons Crab, and Salmon Chowder. Everything was fantastic, and the Salmon tasted much less fishy than what I’m used to in the lower 48. The Chowder was nice and warm for a cold day, and the only thing I’d change about the tacos would be to put them on a flour tortilla instead of a hard shell. The staff was kind and gave us great recommendations. Highly suggest you check it out while visiting Ketchikan. Oh, and the fries were seasoned perfectly.

Definitely get the grilled salmon rice bowl. Perfect combo of flavors and size with excellent value. You get a nice piece of salmon seasoned perfectly with teriyaki sauce, sesame, and seaweed on top of rice and mixed vegetables. We also got salmon chowder and green salad. But for the same price, you get much more with the rice bowl. All 3 for about $40 with tips.
You order first then grab any seat inside. The views are spectacular. You can also hang out on the balcony with your drinks to view the pier and waterfront.

We waited an hour in line as this establishment came highly recommended by locals. Maybe it’s what we ordered, but the food itself seemed average. It was fresh and had good flavor, but I’m not sure what all the hype was about. Crab was small and mine had barnacles on it. It was my first time trying crab legs, but that was a turn-off for me and I probably wouldn’t get them again. I did like the Halibut bowl and would definitely order that again. Overall I have 4 stars for a unique dining experience.
