Real experience
Very high expectations coming here but the empanadas just weren’t very flavorful or like an authentic one. The menu selection is amazing and the staff was very friendly. Also the combo appetizer and drinks were extremely delicious. We ordered 4 different empanadas and none of them were great to where I would come back for them. Jalapeno poppers and elote were very bland.
The shells were good and crunchy but to us they didn’t fit with the flavors, seemed more of a dessert shell to us. I’m sure this could just be a flavor preference but if you are going for a Mexican empanada this isn’t the place. If you want I’d say a modern twist without much flavor try them. If anything it’s an adorable place with great staff appetizers and drinks.

Love this place. The Empanadas are so flaky and delicious. The salsa they serve with them is very good. French fries are seasoned well and crispy. Love the ranch that they have. There are many options to choose from whether savory or sweet. The Tostones are a good appetizer. The artwork inside is awesome, the whole vibe of the restaurant is great. I would highly recommend this unique restaurant.
This place was featured on Food Network’s Diners Drive Ins and Dives. Fun atmosphere and empanadas were tasty. I recommend the Elite and Dizzy Fig. You will want 2-3 empanadas per person to feel satisfied.

Good food (except the Mango & Cheese which had almost no cheese) and poor service. It’s a small place with few staff, who are friendly but not efficient. Seemed like they forgot to take our order until we finally asked. Then had to ask 3 times for silverware and had trouble placing orders for more food and drink. Walking past they would look away so you could not get there attention easily.
Food was so good that my suegra a Costa Rica native asked for 3 orders to go she almost cried and said this is authentic true Pura Vida comida. Go get you some real Latino food by real local people.

Went there for the first time last night and was blown away by the food. We had the vegan empanadas and the potato ones were our favorite. The lightest flakiest dough you can imagine. I wish there were more vegan options. Owners, what about a black bean empanada; or a potato and roasted jalapeño empanada (please!)? Husband loved the spicy margarita and I enjoyed the
house-made lime-aid. Despite them being busy and clearly short staffed last night, service was excellent and fast! I recommend reservations as on a Saturday night as this place was busy!

How have I lived in Mesa for 5 years and never have been here! This little hidden gem is out of this world! Two thumbs up and 10 out of 10! Try the Jalapeño Ham Popper empanada and for desert the Dizzy Fig! You won’t be disappointed, I guarantee it! I will be back over and over again! Already craving another one!

Great food and atmosphere! The vegan appetizers and pita vida and potato empanadas have hooked us! Great food and highly recommend!
