Sameem Afghan Restaurant & Catering

Sameem is a good place to get a taste of the Middle-East. They have a great sampler in the “Mid-Eastern Feast” which I would recommend for anyone coming here. I went with my wife and we ordered the feast for 2 and it was a great appetizer that lets you try a bit of everything. Honestly, this was probably my favorite dish as it was all amazing, especially the homemade chutney (I could of drank it, so good!)

We also tried the chicken curry and the Mixed Grill which came with a beef, chicken, and lamb kabob. These were both good but I kept going back to nibble on the the appetizers.

Our party of four visited over the weekend. Everything we ordered was delicious. The lamb fell off the bone, the chicken was tender. Service was attentive. Serving portions were just right for the price.

The bread was a bit dry and flavorless and the Turkish coffees were just served in massive to-go cups. These are minor details, but worth noting if you’re considering adding these items to your order.

They might be due for a deep cleaning , but everything was tidy and certainly nothing felt gross. Atmosphere was pleasant.

Great location. Metered Street parking available or a quick walk from a metered lot.

We will definitely be visiting again!

The food was an A+! Even the plain rice was outstanding. We had butter chicken and chicken broast. Extremely satisfied. Wow. The chicken was so tender. Very impressed. The chicken pulao with carrots and raisins was great. The staff were so attentive.

One tiny request on the butter chicken is just put a little less salt and it will be 11 out of 10. One more tiny constructive criticism: though the upstairs main dining room is already nice, please consider some soft glowing lighting and/or candle-type lighting, maybe flowers.

Just think about the atmosphere being a little more clean and warm and inviting. But I do plan to come back here every time I visit St. Louis. Loved your delicious meals and so proud to see such an excellent halal restaurant. Thanks so much for an enjoyable night out with my husband!

We traveled from Peoria to this restaurant; it was well worth the trip. The Emperor Platter that my spouse ordered was delicious! Every bite of it was flavorful. My current favorite cuisine is Afghani food !

A special thank you to the people working there, who were really helpful and courteous.

If you’re craving fantastic meals, guys, visit this eatery.

Absolutely amazing! One of the best restaurants in St Louis! Got the samosas and chicken curry and they tasted fantastic. Soaked the rice with the green sauce that came with the samosas because it was so good. Only feedback is that you must tip in cash for it to actually go to waiter. Adding tip via card goes directly to the owner. Our waiters were incredible so I hope that this changes so that the added tip goes to our waiters!

Coming back to this restaurant after 8 years for the Afghani cuisine. The Kabuli Palau with slow cooked Lamb Shank, raisins & shredded carrots was as tender & falling off the bone with wonderful flavors just as I remember. It was worth coming back.

finally

Loved this place and would definitely go back! I got the curry chicken and rice and naan. The chicken was tender and super flavorful. We were served fast and our plates were the perfect portion. The staff was very friendly.
