Real experience
Best omakase ever!
FOOD: chef got really creative about the sauce, spice, everything makes the sushi become so special, so unique.
The fish are very high quality, I hate mackerel but I just had the best mackerel sushi in my life!
Love the the rice portion are not big so they didn’t fill me up half way through the meal.
The tamago was the highlight of the meal, it was super super good, fluffy, melting soft, rich and creamy flavor.
SERVICE: is the best. I feel like I didn’t need to worry about anything at all but just focus on enjoying the food and the chef performance. Chef was explaining every detail and communicating well with everyone.
VIBE: small place with a hidden entrance that no one knows how to get in. The vibe is too formal and too quiet that people were whispering to each other. And it feels quite awkward in there.

This is an expensive meal but totally worth it in the quality of both food and service. Tbh r omakase is delightful with both classic and non classic fish being served with unique spices and garnishes. Loved the wagyu and uni addons and the sakes offered were well paired. Overall definitely a place to treat yourself!
Came here for our anniversary meal, and it was a great experience. The sushi was delicious (fresh, seasoned perfectly), and the sake offerings paired very well. The chef was also friendly, making the experience not too stuffy. Highly recommend.

The restaurant was awarded one-star michelin in 2019 so I expected something “wow” to me but there is nothing special compared to other omakase places I had tried. Can’t deny that the fish was super fresh but most of pieces were plain. They basically gave us rice, fish, and wasabi. There were barely sauce added to the bite. I paid $150 for 20 courses which is reasonable but I want more “wow” overall.

I had an incredible dinner at Sushi Nakazawa in NYC, despite a slightly awkward start – I arrived a bit late for the omakase, and the chef and staff kindly waited for me as each sushi piece is crafted simultaneously. This added an extra layer of appreciation to my experience.
The sushi was nothing short of phenomenal. Each piece was not only fresh but also artfully prepared, a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The chef’s meticulous attention to detail was evident in every bite, with flavors that were perfectly balanced and textures that complemented each other beautifully.
In addition to the omakase, we indulged in an extra box of uni. This turned out to be a fantastic decision. The uni was remarkably fresh, offering a rich and creamy flavor that just melted in the mouth. It’s a rarity to find uni this good, making it a highlight of our meal.
Overall, Sushi Nakazawa delivered an exceptional dining experience. Despite the initial hiccup of my late arrival, the service remained impeccable, and the quality of the sushi was unparalleled. It’s an absolute must-visit for any sushi lover in NYC.
