Real experience
Definitely recommend if you like lasagna. The lasagna flight is such a fun and tasty concept! The atmosphere and food here reminds me of the restaurants in Italy.
There are three options for the flight: meat, vegetarian, and combo. We had the meat flight and a single serving of the bolognese lasagna. Really liked that each lasagna in the flight tastes unique and distinct from one another. The complimentary bread is also very flavorful, and pairs well with the cheese plate.

Loved the enclosed indoor garden. Our waitress J was extremely helpful guiding us thru the menu choices. The food was top notch starting with the cheese k charcuterie plate. The thin foccacia is light, crisp & airy. The pizzas and lasagna choices were absolutely delish!

I went to La Lanterna Di Vittorio with my brother and sister; we all agreed it was amazing! Everything we ate was delicious and the service was impeccable. My sister had the vegetarian lasagna variety which was flavourful and creamy. My pizza had a perfect crust with a delicious amount of cheese. My brother had a calzone which was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and a deliciously moist interior. We also really enjoyed the restaurant’s charm; we were greeted by an Italian Nonna at the entrance – What more could you ask for?!

La Lanterna is a tiny little restaurant that they PACK people into, but you better believe it is worth it. We went on the recommendation of an actual Italian who said this place is one of the few to nail the real flavors of Italy, showing up without a reservation, and even though they were packed the owner or manager sat us right away by a cozy fireplace.
We started with a pizza with prosciutto that was absurdly good. The crust was perfect and the sauce had a fantastic pure tomato flavor. The Italian who recommended us was spot on. We then had Lasagna – mine the arrabbiata, which was legitimately spicy, and my wife the pesto, which was delicious.
Our waitress was excellent and attentive and the owner or manager came over to check on us as well. Perhaps most impressive is that we got a pizza and two entrees and it was only $70.

I visited La Lanterna after a night out with friends in NYC. This is a mid-sized restaurant right on McDougal Street offering Italian cuisine. The most unique thing is its outdoor backyard patio that is enclosed with a clear roof. If you get the chance, try to snag a table there instead of the indoor seating. They have a wide selection of foods, drinks, and desserts.
We only came to grab some desserts so I cannot speak on the dinner menu, though I would come back to try it some time. We ordered the Tiramisu, Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Cake Martini, and Creamy Chocolate Martini. They is nothing to say besides that they were all worth ordering because they left us leaving happy and satisfied. This was the perfect way to end the night and I am glad we did so!
