Pastis Restaurant New York

Pastis is opened to impress. I first know about this restaurant through watching an episode of “Sex and the City, Season 6” and have been thinking of trying it. Pastis does not dissappoint.
From the moment I stepped into the space, I felt as if I had been transported to a street in Paris. The interior architecture and decor spoke to me of the romance one felt when in Paris. Host and wait staff provided good services. Polite and attentive.

On to the best part, Food. Pastis Bar Steak was one of the best steak I ever had currently. Cooked to a perfect temperature of med-rare, tender and juicy. After the first bite, one couldn’t help but to finish it ALL. And to finish the meal off, I must have the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée served with a warm madeleine. Crème Brûlée, soft-textured custard with the crunchy browned sugar on the soft provided the perfect ending to a delightful french lunch!

The trout was good, so was the scallops. As for the steak, it came a bit more done than expected, as it would be good if the meat cab also come with some salad and not just fries. It helps to balance off the greasiness of the meat and garlic butter. Service was great as well.

Luis was our server and he was absolutely incredible! He was extremely professional and well versed with the menu. My friend and I are from out of town and tend to be indecisive eaters. Luis was very helpful and found us something that we loved according to our tastebuds and hunger level. We appreciate his hospitality! The food also lived up to the hype. I would definitely recommend Pastis to any of my friends visiting NYC

The most impressive part of the experience is the hostess stand – multiple monitors and hostess, figuring out seating availability like high frequency traders. Hats off.

We didn’t have a reservation for the busy brunch time. The hostesses magically found an outdoor table for us. Perfect weather for some bubbles, steak tartare and modern French fares on the side walk for a Sunday, people watching and post Whitney Biennial visit.

We are so happy we chose to come here. The food was incredible, the servers were kind and helpful, and the vibe was perfect. The escargot was out of this world and the lobster bisque was rich and creamy. The lobster risotto special was delicious and the duck was rich and savory. Our server and the man who asked to take our dishes were both extremely friendly and made us feel welcome on our first visit. They even made sure to bring out a dessert for my husband’s birthday when we had to rush out Thank you Pastis, what a special place!  We will definitely be back!

Great experience! It was absolutely packed on a Saturday night. We were lucky to have been able to walk in and ask for a table of 5, with only a 10 minute wait. We sat outside but the tables are heated from above a little bit. We couldn’t really feel the heat though lol. The food was tasty, the escargots were a little overseasoned with garlic.

I liked the Chicken Kiev a lot and my friends liked the other dishes as well. I would go back for sure and try the other items on the menu. The dessert was great too. Loved the creme brulee and the other pic I attached (forgot the name). We each paid probably between $40-$60 after tax and tip.

finally

Atmosphere was very chill but nice. Food was great and the fries were the best. Right level of toasty. Service was on point and flexible which was very appreciated.
