Parma Cucina Italiana Restaurant

There are so many choices for Italian food in San Diego but ultimately I ended up choosing this one. I ordered online and it was pretty easy. I got the lasagna, then tagliatelle bolognese, a house salad, steamed veggies, and the lemon tart pie.

I don’t think I would order the lasagna again, might be my personal preference but the texture was too mushy and even though it had so much cheese it wasn’t very tasty. The house salad had no dressing which I thought was very weird, and the lemon pie was good but not very lemony. I think the best dishes were the bolognese and the steamed veggies.

Parma Cucina Italiana Restaurant San Diego menu

Pesto Linguine Shrimp Scampi fresh pasta and large shrimp. Flavor was not overpowering yet proper sauce thick texture. Sea bass special plentiful two large filets with a tomato accoutrement, very tssty and filling. Tiramisu was excellent very light smooth and creamy not overly sweet. Outdoor table seating. Service was good, checked on us regularly.

But almost too much foot traffic between 2 tops near the restaurant and larger party tables near the curb. For some reason a lady ran several times between a store and somewhere farther down the street right through the table rows. Very distracting seating arrangement where pedestrians are walking constantly right by your table.

Glanced indoors and the decor seemed slightly contemporary and simple I prefer the outdoor seating atmosphere seemed more Italian restaurants genuine.

Would visit again.

Incredible authentic Italian pasta! Wow, if you want delicious handmade pasta that melts in your mouth, this is THE place to go. I ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and it was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had! My husband got the cheese gnocchi dish and it was super creamy.

The restaurant is small so the vibe is very personable. The owner and workers are so friendly, and service is quick. We also enjoyed their dessert Tartufo which was a chocolate hazelnut gelato with cocoa powder and chocolate sauce drizzled on top, which of course we were scraping the bowl for very last bite! This is a definite must if you’re a big Italian food fan while in San Diego, it’s not in the little Italy district but I think it’s better than the restaurants we saw there!

Such a charming spot. We were visiting and accidentally stumbled upon this place. Once you come here, you are family. We had a phenomenal time with Roberta and Barbara. We had so much fun with them. The food was amazing such a shame I forgot to take pictures. We had the spaghetti Bolognese and we ate every morsel. Everything is fresh! Trust me, take a chance on them and it’ll be your “go to” Italian spot!

During a spontaneous visit to San Diego we were looking for any good restaurants when we stumbled upon Parma Cucina Italian due to its good reviews online. And I can say that the team didn’t disappoint. We had different pasta of which all were delicious. Also the service was on point so that we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back next time we are around.

Food was delicious and service was excellent. I had their squid ink pasta, which was their special of the day, and octopus salad. Everyone was super friendly, personable, and attentive. Make reservations because they do get busy during dinner service.
