"Savor Handcrafted Udon Noodles at Marugame Udon Restaurant in Hawaii"
Marugame Udon Restaurant Hawaii The food was amazing, made with fresh ingredients, and couldn’t ask for better menu selections. This place gets very busy, so know what to order before you get to the counter. I was hurried along and didn’t completely understand the menu. Seating can be a pain, but it’s worth the wait. I definitely will be coming back.

Real experience
The line can get very long, but they move people through quickly. You start by ordering your noodle or rice bowl, choosing your sides and any drinks you want to add, and paying. As you get close to paying an employee asks how many are in your party and finds a table for you. They have a very efficient method for seating and cleaning tables. The Curry Nikutama with their sweet beef was delicious.
The Chicken Katsu Teriyaki was also very yummy. My husband enjoyed the Nikutama dish, and our son really liked the Beef dish. Each had its own distinct sauce. We grabbed some tempura sweet potato, a spam musubi, and gyoza as sides. The potato and gyoza were delicious, but my son did not care for the musubi. We arrived between 5:00 and 5:30 pm and line wasn’t very long at all.

Wonderful spot in Waikiki! I can absolutely tell why it is so popular. The prices are extremely reasonable and everything is hot and fresh. You go through the line and watch them make the udon noodles right in front of you, then you order your bowl.
Once you get your bowl you can add on some tempura or gyoza then check out and add a drink if you’d like. Once you check out you can grab some sauce for your tempura as well as utensils and then a worker will find a seat for you. I loved the curry bowl, just the regular size was PLENTY for me!

I mean, definitely worth the hype. Hey at the minimum, dine in (don’t take out), enjoy the nice bowl of Udon for a super reasonable price. The broth is very creamy and rich. Noodles are fresh and thick. The queue might seem long but it moves very quickly, 10-15 min tops. Very good and now wanting to try the location in Vancouver to compare. Will be back.

Loved loved loved it!!! I had heard about their wait times therefore decided to pickup Udon bowls. What I loved was even though they’re a super busy location, they were ready to accommodate my request to delay my pickup order as I was running late. I called and spoke to the manager and he was extremely polite.
I loved the Udon noodles, and it’s definitely worth the hype. The only downside was I didn’t find much chicken options so had to go with Vegan bowl. It didn’t disappoint at all. I will definitely visit them again and also checkout their other United States locations.

Honestly not a fan of udon until I tried their dish here. It’s so hyped and now I know why! People were waiting in line for half an hour or so. Thankfully, when we visited, the line went pretty quickly. Totally loved seeing how the udon noodles were made.
Everything was so fast and efficient – from ordering the food, cleaning tables, and all that jazz. The udon noodles itself were cooked to perfection, the sauces and soup bases were so savory. The food portions were big! The price is so affordable, actually cheaper imo! A must try for sure when you’re in Oahu! I recommend Curry Nikutama with udon or rice and The Tan Tan soup.
