We appreciated the home cooked Amish food. You must realize that Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish food is not heavily seasoned. We had the freshly prepared onion rings as an appetizer. Two of us had the daily special of chicken pot pie, which is more like southern chicken and dumplings, and one person had the open face roast beef sandwich.
Two people had the lemon meringue pie for dessert and I enjoyed the homemade ice cream. All of the staff were friendly, welcoming, joyful, and kind. I especially appreciated all of the simple yet lovely winter decor that was around the restaurant. In true Pennsylvania family diner style, all décor is available for purchase.

We did a take out order as we were tired after a long day and wanted to enjoy our hotel and its scenery of the bucolic farms. It was easy to order after referencing the menu online and calling the restaurant. It was ready in just 15 minutes. I had the roasted turkey meal and my husband had the meatloaf. We also tried a cheeseburger soup and ham with bean soup.
Everything was absolutely incredible and delicious! The food was so flavorful and it is all homemade by the Amish family who runs the restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the huge amount of food we received (enough for two meals!) The staff was very friendly even though they were absolutely crazy busy when we went to pick our food up.
This will be a must visit from now on when we come to Lancaster County. I highly recommend if you are looking for delicious homemade food that will give you a taste of Lancaster County’s best offerings. Thank you Katie’s! We’ll be back in late May and are looking forward to dining with you again.

If you are visiting Lancaster County, I highly recommend visiting Katie’s Kitchen! My husband and I ate there three times during our short stay in Lancaster. The staff was incredibly friendly, the service was fast, and every meal we ordered was delicious! The desserts were delectable and provided a wonderful taste of authentic Amish cooking. I can’t wait until we visit and get to eat here again!

Had a really good meal at Katie’s Kitchen. The food here was really good! Sometimes when you go out to eat you eat somewhere that delivers quantity and not quality. This was not that place. The food was great, and so was the service. Our waitress’ name was Sue and it seemed as though she was single handedly serving almost the whole restaurant and being attentive to everyone at the same time. Very thankful we stopped in here.

I was dining with 4 others and one friend needed to plug in her O2 and the staff accommodated us quickly with smiles. Ruthie was our server and she was absolutely delightful! The meal started with delicious homemade rolls and peanut butter spread. I ordered meatloaf and mashed potatoes and peas and the servings were giant! Everything was delicious. The peas were fresh and tasty. I would definitely come back again!

What a wonderful meal. We had the cheeseburger soup which was delicious and very filling. Also the Ruben sandwich with homemade potato chips and grilled chicken with stuffing mashed potatoes and gravy and applesauce which was all wonderful. The server and staff were very friendly and accommodating.
