Real experience
The Iskander was incredible, the meat was moist but not oily, fresh yogurt, fresh made grilled bread on the bottom, topped with a tasty tomato sauce. The Lahmacun is thin and soo good as well as the Sucuk & cheese Pide. Yum yum

It’s a small Turkish Halal cafe. I believe it’s independently run by an individual family ( just a guess) they have few different soups I enjoyed the one I ordered but I want to try the rest as well. Their entree seems good too but I ordered from the grill section- didn’t like them much it was missing some kind of dipping sauce although it wasn’t bad for a ribeye taste. Also, I was kinda little iffy about halal logo not found in the menu. I think it’s city of Chicago thing not to display I guess but as a consumer of Halal food choices I would like and want to see the halal logo sign on their menu.
The Turkish tea is a no for me . Overall Soup was superlicious
ribeye was okay and Turkish tea was a no but the bread served was freshly baked and was perfectly spongy will definitely revisit. Keep in mind it’s a paid parking by the street and not that many spot shops

The food is decent, certainly tastes fresh and it’s a great price, especially the lunch special. I had the chicken korma and beef samsa. The taste was alright, pretty salty. I have a feeling other items on the menu would be a lot better and I may give it another try.

Me and my family visited a few times typically on the weekends. First thing that we noticed every time was our server Sara, with a big smile and a welcoming demeanor made us feel home. She was very nice to put us (my wive and kids) in their guest room since it was very busy in the restaurant (it’s a small restaurant but the amount of people dining is high). Food was prepared fast and service was timely and nice. The homely feeling came even more after trying the food. Genuinely made home style, and fresh. Very good experience over all. Sara is amazing.

Me a a few friends went there on saturday for lunch. We ordered a variety if foods and soups. I’m impressed to say all of them felt authentic and home made. On top of the good food, the service was great too. Our server Sara had a big smile on her face from the moment we walked in and made us feel welcomed.
Despite how busy it was and it seemed like she was the only waitress, she kept everyone happy and served quick and professional so a generous tip was in order. 10/10 for service. Anyway if you are into an authentic mom and pop restaurant with homemade food and nice service, I do recommend a visit to icafe.
finally
The place is small and kind of a hole in the wall place. The lady at the counter was friendly. We ordered a couple of dishes- pida with parsley and cheese, istekander and one more that i am forgetting the name off. So, the starter bread they bought out wasnt too great but it isnt part of what we ordered. The food that we did order was amazing and i really enjoyed it. Taste way better than the turkish food i had on the east coast. Dedinately recommend this place.
