Canal Bistro Restaurant

Lovely Mediterranean bistro with plenty of seating indoors and outside. I had the Mediterranean Beach cocktail with coconut rum, pineapple juice and a splash of champagne and it tasted tropical and refreshing. I ordered the stuffed grape leaves and can honestly say they were the best I have tasted! Served slightly warmed with dipping sauce.

My entrée was the Shawarma salad with chicken. The chicken serving was generous and included the house dressing as well as a side of the garlic sauce. The chicken was tender and so flavorful! The house made garlic sauce was light and fluffy with an egg white base and garlic flavor. It was delicious! Server Hayley was the best!

My wife and I rode our bikes here from Carmel. We ate here for lunch. The service was amazing. And the food was the best Mediterranean I’ve had for a long time. I will definitely be going back. What a lovely evening at the Canal Bistro in Broad Ripple!

My husband and I have been looking for a lovely Mediterranean restaurant ever since we moved here from NYC. Canal Bistro did not disappoint! It was a lovely atmosphere and we look forward to coming back when it’s warmer to dine on the patio. The food was divine and the service was amazing. Lindsey was incredibly friendly and we really enjoyed talking with her!

First off, like many restaurants in Broad Ripple, the venue is amazing. They have patio seating right on the water, so if weather permits, definitely sit out there. Luckily, the food at Canal Bistro is as good as the location. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. I opted for the stuffed peppers (pictured here) with tabouli as my side salad. Both were enjoyable.

The sauce was a little sweet on the peppers but I actually didn’t mind it because the dish was so well roasted + cooked. I also tried the garlic feta fries on another occasion and found them very tasty. Like, “I still think about those fries sometimes” tasty. Price is on the higher side but it’s a great option for a nice dinner or date night. I recommend for anyone in the area!

Canal Bistro is a joint I’ve never eaten at, but last night, I got to make the visit. Arriving at around 6 PM, they weren’t too busy but gradually got busier throughout our time there. Our waiter was cool and attentive to us, and gave good suggestions on the menu.

The outdoor patio was very nice and gave good views of the canal. I ordered the classic Gyro sandwich with fries as my entree. And overall, it was just okay. The Gyro meat was tender and seasoned well but the pita bread was quite soggy and didn’t hold together well. The fries were also pretty bland. For $16, it was just average. Overall, this was an okay experience. Will I return? Maybe. Might give the Mediterranean Beef Burger a shot next time since it looked good!

Very delicious food. Well prepared and quick. I was greeted promptly and sat right away. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere. Haley, my waitress was great and made sure everything was good. I ordered the portobello burger with fries along with a cup of lentil soup. Both had lots of flavor and spices. They also offer complimentary pita bread with oil and herbs. Swing by and check them out.

finally

The lamb shank was easily one of the best I’ve ever had! Bursting with flavor! Our table shared the mezze plate and the baba and hummus was incredible. And their drinks were fun, delicious, and strong! Definitely recommend.
