Real experience

This place is the gem I didn’t know I needed. Our waitress Sarah was amazing! The place is spacious and welcoming. The menu is great! They even offer a vegan menu. Although having a vegan menu is mentioned on the chalkboard, I think they should offer this menu when being seating. I would have totally missed out on with had I not asked about it.

My only complaint is our food was not hot, or even warm when we received it. It was all room temperature. Sarah was very accommodating with taking it back to try warning it up but it was still Luke warm. The fact the food was still amazing regardless of the temperature says a lot. I will definitely come back again. Oh, and their drinks are amazing too!

The hostess was welcoming & very pleasant! Our server, Trace, was so kind & personable & very helpful with the food choices! The food, ahhh, the food was so good!!! We started with the crispy Brussel sprouts! They were indeed crispy & that sauce in the bottom of the bowl was soooo good!!!! My husband & I shared the taco platter, 5 tacos & our 2 sides were sticky rice & fries! The sticky rice had no flavor until my husband added the consume’ for the birria tacos!

That made the rice real good! The fries are delicious!! We also had the baja fish taco, and my hubby liked it, but to me it had no taste, no seasoning, but if you add any of the different flavors of hot sauce, they did help!

The hot sauces are so good!!! We also had the birria tacos we substituted the pork with chicken & these are ALWAYS so yummy!! Our favorite taco was the prime rib!!! No need to add anything it’s delicious all on it’s own!!!

We sat down immediately at noon with a party of nine and found this place fantastic. Sunday drink specials (bloody Marys and mimosas) were excellent. Our lunches were delivered from the team and we’re served hot and were delicious. I had the breakfast burrito and about four others had the Chicken and Puffles were to die for. My daughter had the Hot Mess….and she could stop raving about….highly recommend!

The chicken and waffles were delicious, and I liked the poke bowl a lot, too. The lychee margarita was good. They had a lot of drafts on tap, and the waitress was really nice.

If you’re in Five Points and looking for a great place to eat with a high bang-for-your-buck value, this is a top notch spot! Publico always has a fantastic selection of Tacos (including a lot of unique specials). I’ve tried a large number, including most of the fish options – and even tried a CRICKET taco on a more adventurous occasion. They also have a selection of beers (a few fun seasonal rotations are included).

If it’s fresh tacos you’re after – or a really nice happy hour spot, this one is great for both those ground down by the working world and the optimistic students who frequent Five Points. The back patio is also very nice (scorching South Carolina summers not withstanding). All in all – absolutely a must-try for any local and a great spot for parents visiting to connect with their kids!
